Track speed comparison

Just wondering what kind of track speed everyone is getting when climbing steep n deep. Obviously setups are going to vary so list the basics of your clutching, engine, and gearing. I don't know, I just feel like I could get more out of my track! maybe its time to experiment with more helix's,

06 900
-stock engine except VES plugged, and decompression holes are plugged
-19/42
-420409 64-44ER .46 (also has a 64-40 track) / Team red/pink 140-260
-10-68's / SLP blue/pink
-151x2.4 series IV

With rpm tuned to 7500(ish) I get about 42mph depending on snow density. Thoughts?
I know I am running a different helix than most, I got it because Chris Kasel at Carls recommended it to me and at that point it was hard to get the popular 719.
I have tried the 64-40 track and it backshifts a little nicer but revs up to quickly, imo not taking advantage of the 866's torque.

not many guys have ridden yet dano...thanks for rubbing that in ;)

i would also give the black/white secondary spring a shot too. it bites harder and was recommended by indydan

ill post back when i get snow...kinda hard to ride w/o it. lol.

Ummm... no, it's just you Sean lol.

A few good climbs and surprised at the results on the basic stock engine running a 166" track in some good Kootenay fresh pow with this set up, unfortunately my Speedo is not working but she had allot of pull and constant speed throughout the climb. Geared 18/39 * 10-74 * Red Pink * Thing Can, I find this can responds well under power especially going up in altitude on a long hard pull, I ride around 7 thou in alt at both Revy and the Koots, it works for me!

Almost forgot one thing I will share with you. I installed SLP track buttons on the stock track and gained 5 mph track speed. Fully clipped track will have faster speed too.

05 switchback
18/42 gears
10 74 weights
black green primary spring
62/42-36 heliex
black spring
slp can
air box gutted
fully cliped track

tried a couple of small pulls got 62 to 64 mph in soft sugerlike snow at 1800-2000ish feet going by the mfd memory reset each time

checked spedo before i extended and geared down on radar was 96 mph at 96 mph

Depending on snow conditions I usually pull 41-45 MPH track speed with my 166 between 6K-7K ft

Blk/Grn primary spring
10-70 wts
Stock helix with red/blk secondary spring (and last year with titanium equivalent)
SLP can
F&I intake
18:39 gearing
Otherwise stock motor

I have seen as high as 50 mph in spring conditions, on long pulls it would slowly accelerate from 45 up to 50, but in normal conditions our cascade concrete usually holds me back between 41-45 most often.

Guess, I will have to see if I can get speedo to work on the 975 to see if cascade concrete will slow it down.:face-icon-small-ton
