Track shaft problem 06 M7

I have 06 M7 and the track shaft will not pull from the brake assembly, manuel says it should just pull out i have removed the retaining nut on the assembly what am i missing.I have removed DD and track.

You probably aren't missing anything. The first time I took mine out of my '05 I had to make a metal plug to put in the end of the shaft (on the brake side so I wouldn't damage the end), turn the sled on it's side and smack it with a sledge hammer. The shaft rusts, and welds itself to the bearings and spacer. I'd bet money that's what you need to do. A normal hammer with a block of wood wouldn't budge mine, it took like a 20# sledge.

x2^^ mine was not that bad but needed an overnight soak in some pb blaster and a good whack with a BFH and a piece of wood where the retaining nut came off. and put it back together with anti-seize;)

M7

Thanks for the input,i think i will leave the drive shaft in the brake assembly the bearings are still good and i dont wont to damage the bearing beating on the end of the shaft,Thanks again.
