track replacement

hey i am fairly new to snowmobiling and just picked up a 153 powerclaw for my yammie nytro. should help with hookup from what i have read. my question is when i go to change this out is there anything i should be looking for or know. is there a tried and true process? or just good old fashion hard work. any info would be greatly helpful and thanks. mike

The powerclaw has nubs along the outer edge that you will have to remove for the drivers to move properly on the track. Should be a huge improvement for you. Good luck. Be careful taking the chaincase cover off so you see how all the reverse linkage goes back together.

pc track/drivers

as far as cutting the nubs is this something that new drivers would solve. i have read that the stock drivers are not all that great.Ive read on some of these threads that avid is a good choice or should i even bother. mostly stock machine except for front end. Once again thanks for your advice and insight. mike

As long as you have things apart already, put new Avid drivers on. Better now than this winter when everybody else is enjoying new snow.

If you are all stock for HP you shouldn't have an issue with the stock drivers. I have a set of avids that are going on this winter, but the stock ones have held up to 10-15lbs of boost for a handful of rides so far. If you boost your sled, or have plans to then I would make the switch....if not, they can wait.
