Track replacement

Well i bought a camo extreme 2.5 and I got swindled out of it:rant:.. Oh well .... So I'm now back to looking for a new track for offseason upgrade. So the question is.... Will a series 5.1 155x15x2.86 fit under a 2006 RMK 900 151"? What are the best drivers? I was thinking of going with Ice Age rails? Any other suggestions.

i personally have never done a track swap, but i dont see any reason why that track wont work fine for you.

the 2.86" pitch tracks will clear for sure, its the 3" pitch tracks that are close, and only worth doing if you drop and roll.

i would for sure go with AVID drivers...get the Power Claw design, they are the BEST ones.

And for sure on the Ice Age rails as well...i would run 8" wheels and if you get the ICE Age rails in the summer, they are 20% cheaper as well. And i like the Tipped Rails ;)

What's the advantage to the tipped rails? do you think I will have any problems fitting a 155 under the 151 tunnel?

tipped rails let it turn easier on trails. If you run a 2.86 with 2.5 inch paddles you will need to run 7 tooth drivers for the track to clear the bulkhead. You will also need 7 inch top idlers to get track clearance over the front arm with the smaller drivers.

So will a series 5.1 155"x15"x2.4" with a 2.86 pitch polaris dragon track fit? I am under the impression this track will fit with new rails and drivers. Thanks for the suggestion on tiped rails and AVID drivers I think I'll go that route.

Are the 7 tooth drivers really needed? Why couldn't you just get a set of dragon 2.86 drivers or a whole driveshaft w/ drivers installed? The snow check 900's came with a 2.4" track didn't they? If so, there should be enough room to get a 155x2.4" to fit and have the needed bulkhead clearance. Unless I'm missing something.

yes dude.....that track WILL work fine.

2.86 stock driver is a different diameter than stock 2.52 diameter. 2.4 inch paddle only had about 1/4 clearance. 2.5 is to close with an 8 tooth 2.86 driver. You may be able to get it on but the track would be to close to the bulkhead and snow could jam up the track. Dragon bulkhead is different and has more clearance in front.
