So today on my 215 evo 1100 I had track ratcheting, how tight are people running? And also after gauge was saying 2 bars I turned up a hill and let it loose and it bogged under full throttle but came right back after I let out a bit it came right back like it ran out of fuel happens twice was goin down hill a while both times it happened, then it said fuel on gauge then later was blinking then up to 4 bars. Need some theory's or explanations please

Easy fix

Sounds like track is just too loose. If you jack the back of sled up the track should sag about two inches. Tighten up track just a bit.

The bog sound like the back pick up was sucking air. check your pick ups in tank cat new tank kind of suck for doing that

the theory is loose is fast but you cant run it too loose inch and a half to two inches is perfect

Sounds like a chain issue possibly. I would have sworn my track was ratchetting as well but it was the chain, acted just like a track and only did it under high track speed in the powder.

fuel issue

On my 12 turbo the factory had screwed up the smart valve hookups inside the tank, and one of them had actually gotten loose and was hung up in there. Would always run out of fuel, but would only take three gallons to fill it at the pump. Never had an issue after that. Cat does have a bulletin out to check the smart valves, depending on your serial number.

Mike:

I had the same clunking last year after the track broke in and it was the track slapping the tunnel. The track was too loose. Tightened it a few turns and the clunking went away........

The fuel pickup issue is explained in a thread on HCS. I believe his new screename is Greensmob or sumthin. These searches take a while but I believe I searched under fuel pickup mod or fuelpump mod. If you can't find it pm me and I'll look it up.

Had the same, under heavy load. Thought it was ratchet, but with Exos and a tight track I was thinking no way. Dealer opened case and we found the chain tensioner almost all the way to the end. Stretched that bad? Wrong chain from factory? Don't know what would have caused the issue. New chain is in so we will see if I get that ratchet again.

Also have the fuel issue. at 1/2 tank or les, when climbing it will start to burble. Cat keeps denying the issue with me. I know Cat sent some new pickup springs for one dealer to test on a customer sled. Some have had success moving the front pickup to the rear and vice versa. Still waiting for Cat to admit it's an issue and fix my sled!!!
