track noise when on the brakes?

Anybody else getting lots of track noise on their 08, 09 or 10 D8s when on the brakes going down steep stuff. It sounds like the track is ratcheting or slipping on something. The track tension is good. Never makes a sound while climbing.
thanks

Yes i do. ITs always done that. Its ratcheting. Snow builds up on the drivers and thats where you get that ratchet from.

Try also to check the alignment between the track and the drive wheels, a friend of mine had this problem on his 07 Dragon and the teeth just missed the holes in the track going down a slope making the track rattle and shake

Thanks

Thanks for the help!!
Has anyone found that the center (skinny) gear on the drive line is causeing this problem? It seems that the track could be riding up on top of the teeth and causing the slipping? What is the purpose for the center drive gear anyway? Has anyone cut it out to solve the problem? This noise drives me nuts.
thanks!!

Yeah

Tighten your track to spec!

The noise is the track slapping the underside of the tunnel. Take a look up inside your tunnel and I bet you see skidmarks. If the track is tightened to spec it will stop, but, these poo tracks seem to stretch a lot so when the noise comes back that means time to tighten the track again.

I am running extro drivers on my 166 in my IQR and it does the same thing...This same track on my old Edge without extros never did it. Track is at spec...bummer

My 010 D8 has the same noise, has had it from day one. No track rubing marks on the tunnel. Drives me nuts also, piss poor design from poo. Dino

i was told that the track is bunching up before it gets to the drivers when breaking hard, mine has done it to. there is so much moving mass under there that it has to go some where and it makes a wave like motion just before it comes back to the drivers.
