track mod ?'s

I saw somewhere a mod that cuts down the outer paddles on a 16" track to make it handle like a 15" track. Anyone else familiar with this or seen it anywhere? I searched but didn't find much. Thanks

ya or a good razor knife the rubber on most tracks does cut fairly easy.

Now when you get in the the belting cords of fibers in the main track belt and most tracks with a couple layers etc.. thats a different story need cutting tool of some sort.

track mod

this is my mod on a 174 2.5 in track.. I took 6 lbs of weight off this track. A stiffer lug isn't always a good thing. Just trenches more.. I cut the outside points off at a 45* angle. better for sidehilling... For a 174,,, still has great track speed..

The holes drilled thru the lugs are interesting,

There is a thread goin on here about a new track tool that brakes the outer part of the fiber suport rods or bars that run thru the track belt , they brake the outer part of this support rod from the rails out to simulate a flex-edge track, I am curious in buying the tool when it comes out and was thinkin even before seein your track pic ya posted of how much outer flex you would add or get if you drilled a hole (not sure of the size yet) or couple holes like this pic in the lugs to help the lug flex more after the outer part of the rods are broken , Ya know.......

I also like the flex and rolling resistance advantage of a ported track but not huge holes like an xp track smaller more sencible ones

What do ya all think of this idea??

man have you tryed this track on the snow I just dont know about drilling holes in the paddles I spend alot of money putting 3" tracks on all my sleds to take a hole saw after one of them

I rode it about 800 miles last year.. Yes, I have tried it in snow.. it is amazing. For a 174,,,, lots of track speed.. Great flotation. I actually geared it up a tooth. But then it is a Felker tunes sled.. We do ride deep pow..! I have to try to keep up with all the turbo,, nuts.. ugh!!

Guy's he ^^^ said it is Felker tuned, trust me,,,,,,if it's Felker tuned it's a runnin' sumbeetch!!
