TRACK LENGTH ST VERSES LT

WHATS EVERYONES THOUGHTS SO FAR BETWEEN THE TWO SETUPS ,THOUGHT ABOUT DOING A 136 CONVERSION ,CUTTING AN OLD TRACK AND EXTENSIONS ,CURIOUS HOW MUCH POWER CONSUMPTION THE TRACK WILL BE NOT BEING A 1PLY .

I think manuverability will be more of an issue than power loss. Maybe not. I've been wrong a lot lately!!

I am trying a 136 by 10 3/4 track with tip up rails.

Should have good flotation and if I am correct the narrower track should take less energy to push through pow to maintain good track speed.

With the tip up rails it should turn not to bad. That is the theory :bounce:

I have experience with both of this years Timbersled track kits. The ST is a little easier to handle on wooped out single track trails, has very good traction on set up snow and still works good in powder. It is more aggressive than the older 1 3/4" track and a great choice for a stockish 450 or 500. If you have a little more power and ride in 2' of powder most of the time, the LT is probably a better choice. It really tractors through the deep stuff , and still handles tight trails well, just not as good as the ST.

I went with the lt, and I'm glad I did. The last two days, my friend and I have been riding, and we're the most even on the hill that we've ever been. I'm on an 09 yz450f with a slip on exhaust, a little jetting, and the lt mountain horse. He is on a 2013 kx450f with the st mountain horse. Riding sleds, I've always had a rough time because I'm a big guy. I weigh just over 300 pounds, and he's like 180. We haven't been hill climbing side by side till we're stuck to see who goes farther, but before he would always get places I couldn't. Its not like that now, so I think the long track was a good decision on my part.
