Track help

I have an 08 M8 with the stock 153" track. It's a P.O.S. What is a good track for this sled. I've been trying to read up on the new Power Claw, but don't know much about it. Been riding a lot recently in WA with a lot of ice to try and get to the snow, and I can't get any traction while every other sled on the mountain goes right by me. Don't know much about tracks, and need advice.

hey

I'm running the stock 90 durometer on my hcr, and love it. The stiffer paddles hook up amazing in semi set-up snow, but you lose a little in deep dry snow. I don't hear any complaints for the 80 duro with other people that run them either. tim

Powerclaw. What kind of snow do you have in washington usually? By the way it sounds you want the stiffer 90 duro track, but if you have really dry fluffy snow you would want the 80 duro.

we have no snow in WA right now lol. its usually not this crusty hard but el nino is sticking it to us this year. the local boyz love the power claw around here. what is your stock track the challenger? i have been running the attack 20 reversed and it was ok on the hard pack and great for hill climbing but not the best for slowing down on the way back down. in fact i would part w/ the A-20 for cheap if you wanted to give it a go, less than 500miles on the track. you usually ride s baker or what?

I do usually ride baker, but a little around stampede and greenwater. I have the A20 on now, and just cant get any bite on this hard pack that we have now. If it doesn't have ideal powder then foreget it, I slide all over the place.

do you have it in the factory position with the lugs on the bottom of the track bending forward? if so the paddles bending over on hard pack is why that thing doesn't go anywhere. you could try reversing it, now imagine the lugs curling to the back of the sled and clawing in. still isn't a great track on hard pack but in denser snow it hooks up better but remember the folding of the lugs, now that happens coming down hill so look out (i really don't think its that bad though with proper technique and good clutching backshift. i finally got a powerclaw as the solution, fingers work!

your cheapest solution would be to only ride ideal powder days but mother nature is not having it this year....
