Thinking of switching the 155 to a 163 using track extensions for simplicity and low cost. Tracks sells these for under $150, any downside to these, would be a easy installation and can always go back to 155 if not happy with 163?

Have had good luck with the tracksusa style extensions. Had them on my old switchback (144-151) and a buddies M8 (153-162). Put a bunch of hard tail-landings on them and everything holds up fine. You do have to drill 2 holes in each rail but I believe it's behind where the stock axle bolts in so it doesn't affect strength at all.
Any extension will put more stress on the original rail...but it can't be much worse than a stock 163 rail, the extended 155 rail will have the same distance from axle to rear scissor mount.

Being that your effective extension length will only be 4", you should have no problems. Don't forget about a tunnel extension (may be part of the package). I have put a 9" extension on an XP Ski-Doo (120" - 137") with no ill effects. The only issue you face is will a 4" track extension be worth the cost of the extension and track (+/- $900)? 550iq

I have a 121 prox that I streached out to 136 , pounded it for 6 season. Even pounded it hard enough to break the rear axel wheel landing a jump crossed up. No issue with the Tracks USA rail kit or tunnel kit both are top notch products .
