Track Extension from 121 to 141

I have a 2000 polaris indy triumph 600 with a 121/15/1" track. I don't know much about sleds yet and i need some help in knowing what to do to extend my track. I don't know what pitch my track is now? and i know that i need new rails if i go from 121 to 144, and i want to know if i get a 1.5 to 2 inch lugs will it clear the tunnel and everything underneath or would i have to get new sprockets? Just anything i would need in general for extending the track? help would be appreciated

well your stock rails can be used if you buy rail extenions . you will need a tunnel ext.. 12" long . a track with 2.52 pitch is stock . and you can go up to 1 3/4" lugs on stock drivers in a 2000 year sled . you will also need 20floz. of chain case oil . and probly a lower seal if your not real carful but its a good idea to change it any way .. normal hand tools and a camra to post pics :D ...

the parts can be found at tracks usa or vanamburg and many outher retail places .. the oil can be found at your dealer .. or people use all kinds of auto oils from atf to 80w90 .. i use a 50 sae sinthetic..but i will recomend the polaris stuff to anyone..im sure there are some little things but that covers the major stuff...

So i can go from a 121 to a 144 with just a rail extension? if i do that would i need all new hyfax or just piece them in? And what do you mean by lower seal if i'm not real careful? would you recomend buying a used track also or a new one cuz i don't want to spend 500 bucks on a new track. how much do you suspose this will run me to buy everything that i need to extend it? thanks a bunch

To extend your track, tunnel, rails, update the clutching (springs, weights, helix) to match the new track... you are looking at tearing off at least $600 in used parts....$1000 for new.

You would want to buy a 136 or a 144 in a 2.52 pitch... the 141" is a different pitch (driver size).

You can find these all day long in the swapmeet...

Hyfax are dirt cheap...like $20 or less each. ... You should not piece them together .

But, at the end of day, you are looking at spending a lot of money on a sled that does not have a good resale value.

I think you would be way ahead of the game if you sold your sled the way it is... then bought a similar year RMK 600 or 700. It will already have the track, clutching, skis, seat, handlebars and suspeinsion etc that is setup for deep snow use. The RMK will be lighter and go thru the snow better than a modded short track on the same budget, by far IMO.

My 2 cents.
