Track clicking, clunking, rattling on tunnel

Had a customer bring in a 2017 163 3" complaining of a clunking sound at low speed coming from the track.

Upon inspection, found that the track was loose and the rear adjusters were uneven letting the track run **** eyed in the tunnel. Corrected the track tension and alignment and there was still a noise coming from the track-- it was most prevalent when the track was slowing to a stop when on a track stand. After pulling the right side panel, I noticed that the brake pads would shake and rattle against the rotor as the track was coming to a stop. The noise was coming from the pads vibrating on the rotor which resonated through the jackshaft.

Not sure if this is unique to the 3", but something to look at if you have an unidentified rattle or clunk coming from your track.

Noticed it right away with a 2.6 on also and then a 2.215 ..I'm pretty sure it's the 7 tooth Driver, I've now gone to a 8 tooth to see if it stops..

Was even more noticeable on Braking from high speeds .

I should think the 8tooth driver would have less approach angle and maybe will keep the skis down

Noticed it last year on my 163x3", Buddies sled did the same thing. It will also do it coming down hill on and off the throttle in deep snow, not even on the brake, But Ive felt it several times braking too.
I never spent much time trying to track it down, the little looking that I did, I though it was related to the drivers. I dont think the drivers are "timed" as close as the should be to the track pitch. Who knows? Eric

Had what sounds like the same issue this weekend a few times, 3" 174. I found that the snow was building up between the drivers eventually getting large enough that it was allowing ice and snow between the drivers and track thus pushing the track into the tunnel.

I did see that my track was closer to one side than the other in the tunnel and there's a chance that when the track is too loose it allows this to happen? It was only on one driver and it was to the side that the track was running close in the tunnel.

Checked my brake pads and they have a lot of slop in them and I have a clicking noise I thought was from the track clips. Is there a fix for the brake pads being so loose or is that how they are supposed to be?

It may sound funny but I ran into this situation on my Polaris RZR 1000
There is a video on U-Tube with a thin sheet metal fix. It works as I have done it in several sleds
All it does I'd tighten up the tolerance and keeps the pads and the housing from chattering.

On our Drag sleds we take the spring material from brake lines and install it between the pads on the pin (the spring material protects them from kinking on curves)

Probably not the fix everyone is looking for , probably silicone to glue them to the Caliper would be a better fix !!

This will for sure fix the clicking and definitely cause zero drag that is the reason we do it !!

BUT IT WILL cause a unsafe feeling because you have to pump the brakes or they will NOT work 100℅ guaranteed!!!!;
