Track and Drivers

Hey Guys,

First off I am wondering which track you guys would recommend running on a turbo pro, all mountain riding in BC powder? I have been running the stock track for over a year with no complaints but I am in need of a replacement.

As well it maybe an odd question but can your rotate extrovert drivers? Mine are looking little worn on the drive side of the teeth and I am concerned that is part of my ratcheting problem. It look like I could simply flip them around and get some more life out of them, but will just change them out if need be.

Thx

I ran the 2.5 challenger extreme with 7 tooth avid extrovert drivers last year on my turbo proand really liked the set up over the stock track. I went to the 3" track this yr but not sure how I like it yet as ive only been out to the hills oncethis yr and the snow sucked. We r heading to bc next weekend so hopefully will have better idea then. I have the 2.5 extreme and drivers for sale if u r interested, they only have maybe 200 miles on them so r like new basically. It is a 155" track.

Thanks for the offer but I guess I should have mentioned I am looking at a 163" track.

As for the drivers I compared mine (PPD or something) to my friends Avid's and there is no comparison, I will be switching to Avids.

Now question is do I go 2.5" or 3", hearing a lot of ranting and raving about 3", basically this thing has turned into a mountain only machine, so is it time to go 3"?

I had a 3" on my sled for the first 3 weeks and took it off. Yes, it gets awesome traction, but I can STAND the way it made the sled handle. Sled felt very one dimensional in my mind, and made it much more difficult to ride. I ordered a 2.5" that is suppose to be here this week.

Sorry to hijack, but would the 163, 3" or the 174, 2.5" be better for this situation?

Yeah I want something that handles better than it climbs, pretty sure I will end up with the CE 2.5". Also remembered the 12' requires a chaincase mod (or belt drive) to make the 3" 7 tooth work and I am in need of a track asap so that won't work for me.

Where have you been riding? I have a 3" on mine and haven't found enough snow to even test it.

Ok soo with all my excitement of putting a 2.5" CE 3" pitch under my sled I forgot some of the basics as mine is a 2012......the chain case needs to be modded.

Now I am faced with the dilemma of either going chain case mod, with 7 tooth avid drivers. or....

Avid chaincase and the 8 tooth avid driver I ordered....

I am hitting my head against the wall at the moment, but if anyone has some experience with these setups, which route would you go? I can easily return the drivers and go 7 tooth and get a modded chaincase. Or I can easily keep the 8 tooth and when the time is right install the drop and roll. I am leaning towards the latter, but could be persuaded either way.

I have heard of handling characteristic changes with the Avid drop n roll. If it were me, I would get the case modded and run the proven 7T drivers and not mess up how your sled handles. JMO

Good to know, makes sense, handling is the main reason for owning this sled. Would like further info from some who have tried it.

For this reason I am going 7 tooth and chaincase mod. Anyone who has done that, have you been putting the glue back on the chaincase to the chassis?

Thx

Dan

Cmx drop and roll belt drive with 8 tooth drivers power claw style and run a x3 track. Must have a fully coupled suspension to make it handle how you want, I run the k mod. Real aggressive setup, not for beginners, but flat out rips

Agreed I've had both and prefer the 2.5.
