It works fine - I've swapped back and forth with my TRA-III all the time; the TRA-VII is just a beefed up version of your TRA-III with the same sheave angles and clearances. You DO want to make sure the TRA-VII has had all the updates - especially the newer bushings! DJ has a lot of great info on it at his Northern Catalyst website.
