New to SkiDoo.2006 800rev159 Bought this sled a month ago Engine light is flashing and dealer says throttle position sensor needs to be replaced and they were about $200. Ilooked at the service record and it had been replaced one year ago and been in twice before with TPS ground wire issues. This sled has the SkiDoo BEST extended warranty and it appears the replacement
TPS last year was covered under warranty. Maybe it is not covered? One of the reasons I switched to SkiDoo is that they seem to have the best service in our region I can ask the dealer Friday when they are back to work but thought I should see what I could find out from the Doo Crew first.

i dont think you will be charged, my was out of warranty and i didnt get charged a dime, and i know of one other that was a freebie also

Lucky: Thanks for your reply Hopefully, I will have as good of luck with my dealer taking care of theTPS problem as you did. Hope it comes in tomorrow as they had to order the part in. Looks like lots of snow where we are riding Saturday and if it does not come in I will ride it anyways. The day the light came on was my first time on the sled but it seemed to run pretty good. Clickers ( I am installing quick clickers) at 4 and elevation 9- 11,ooo ft. Rpms came up to about 7800 then it felt like it kicked in and went to 8100. Gets up to 60 pretty fast{bad snow that day so hard to tell what it will really do in the deep} then that is about it. Maybe the clickers at 4 limit the top end? We usually just take the trail to our destination then hit the deep stuff so don't really care much about top end on the trail. Perhaps the bad TPS sensor has it running rich or?

Any one else have experience on if the TPS is warranteed? It had been replaced a year ago for the previous owner.

Unless I heard wrong, the parts dept seemed pretty clear to me that it was on my $$.

wyo if your going to ride it anyway take a rope, they get progressivly worse until they wont run, i had to tow mine about a half mile when it went out all the way.

The Dealer did replace the Throttle Position Sensor after the $50 deductible.
The sled now rips.. We hit some deep snow last Saturday and this thing looks to be right with last years XP. I was amazed!! and happy. Going to Cooke next week, hope it runs as good there.

I did put some prefilter material over the two vents on the hood as that underhood area gets pretty full of snow. Seems to keep it a lot drier.
