TPS - Error 84

I have a problem developing with my 06 apex. So last year my TPS broke when I was taking it off the trailer on a perfect bluebird day. After I got done tossing my little fit and replaced it (yamaha stepped up cause I was 3 days past my warrantee) I didn't have a problem for the rest of the year.

So when ever I ride deep snow or when its cold out my sled starts kicking the error code 84 saying that the tps is broken. What is actually happening is that that stupid little button sensor (right by the throttle) is freezing and thats was kicking the error. You can still run it most of the time, but it wont idle and you have to keep it above 5k rpms.

Anyone else seeing this or have you done anything to stop it?

Thanks

yes and no

I got that code on my sled a couple times but I am thinking its from getting to boost and dumping the throttle.. basically the code is saying that your flipper has no presure on it and the throttle boddies are open. my only fix was stop dropin the throttle.. dont know if this is the same thing you are getting

84 is TORS, 15 is TPS. If you are not sure which one is giving you fits, bypass the TORS -> Still have a problem, run diagnostics on TPS and see if it is within range or not. Sometimes an 84 will show up when your TPS takes a dive, but if you pull up the fault log you will see a 15.

check the tension on your throttle cable if you cable is to tight it will cause your tors to come on & like cowboy said snow & ice behind the throttle will cause it too.

First thing i do to any yammie i ride, disconnect the tors. Its more of a pain and/or dangerous than it is usefull.
