TPS adjusted, now check engine light on

Help!!!
2006 RMK 700. I haven't ran the sled yet this year, so part of pre season tune up I pulled the throttle body and set up the TPS. It was off by about .5 volts, so I was dealing pretty good. Reinstalled it and started the sled, now the check engine light is flashing, steady about a flash a second, and it will not go into reverse. Idle RPM 1450-1500, will rev up, I haven't brought RPMs up enough to engage clutch, don't want to do any damage if something is wrong.

Reason I checked the TPS first thing this season is last year, it was acting up. Meaning it would run good the first couple of hours on a ride then the throttle would bee very touchy in the mid range, when I held a bout half throttle, it would surge in and out of power.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks,

John.....

1) Please don't take this as an insult, but did you remember to plug the harness back onto the TPS?

2nd thought, is the exhaust temp sensor probe plugged in?

3) Please re-check the T.P.S. To be off by .5 volts is a WHOLE LOT!

^^^^Absolutely...

And, the TPS connector on this sled is famous for breaking wires inside of the connector just behind the crimp. Could need a new TPS electrical connector. Might need a new TPS also. The vibes on these bigblocks seem to eat TPS' for lunch.

What method did you use to adjust the TPS???

It was exactly the signal wire broken in the plug itself. Wire shielding was not broke or torn but the wire itself inside was cut clean. Got the plug apart and pin pulled, re-solder the pin and put every thing back together and every thing was fine.

I mad a TPS adjuster from an old phone charger and set the idle voltage to .95 as per manual (my base altitude is 6000 ft). The initial idle voltage was .89.

Now it just needs to snow to check it out!!!!!

Thanks for the replies.......

Glad you got it figured out. It sounds like it was off by .06 volt not a .5 volt.

that makes more sense.
