Towing sleds with motorhome/RV?

We are shopping for small RVs (like a 90s Toyota mini motorhome or Class B / Camper van), anyone tow with one? From what I've found on RV sites, towing with the Toyotas is pretty much a no-go, but I'm not totally convinced it can't be done. The vans seem to be ok for light loads. I just want to pull our aluminum 2 place open trailer.

Seems like it would be about 1500 to 3500lbs tow capacity. Figure 2 sleds at about 500lbs each and a 1200 trailer, your in the 2200 to 2500lb ballpark.
Check tow ratings, worse thing is wear and tear on the mini motorhomes transmission, engine, braking. Very worse would be not having enough mass to stop the trailer down a hill, want to make sure brakes are in good working order.
Good Luck.

like a 90s Toyota mini notamotorhome can't even pull themselves down hill let alone pull a trailer

The only ones I have seen are in the slow lane barely breaking 50 mph on the flat interstate. I would look elsewhere.

I already know how bad the Toyotas suck for power, I have a 88 pickup with the 22R 4 cylinder, and we used to have a camper on it. The main appeal to the Toyota RV is the fuel mileage and size. I can squeeze 28mpg out of my 2wd 5speed pickup, the RVs seem to report 14-17 (for either the 4cyl or V6, not much difference). Most of the traveling will be done with just 2 people so we don't need a big one, and really don't want to deal with the 8-10 mpg they get. I mainly just wanted to see if anyone has used a mini RV to tow sleds or anything with (RV forums didn't turn up much useful info specific to towing experiences). I'm leaning towards a big NO on the Toyota mini for this purpose but I'd like to hear from others who may know more about it.

I really think one of the van style rigs would be best but they are rare and expensive around here.
