Towing idea: jet ski trailer

Been toying around with the idea of a good way to haul the bike. I don't really like the idea of loading it into a truck and having to purchase a product like the spine. And I'm thinking about selling my truck anyway.

So... What about getting a single place pwc trailer and then welding in a solid floor to the trailer? It's low to the ground, good length, and the trailers are solid.

Here's what I am looking at:

Any thoughts? Good idea...Or scrap it?

You don't have to have a sled trailer or even a truck. Just ask Phil. :)

For that much I would just get a tradition tilting snowmobile trailer with the front that drops... You can get a 2 place for the same price then you ride on and off... Also you could set it up to carry up to 4 bike... That's what I use... Just add loops for the tie downs...

It would work, those trailers can be had here in michigan for $200 all day. It's a great idea. But I have to trailer a few hrs so I'm out on the open trailer. Back of the truck for me, or in the enclosed trailer. Can't stand having road grim on my stuff. But If I was going a mile or two, Thats how I'd trailer it. Small Light weight easy to pull. good luck and post some pic when it's done.

With all the mag chloride and salt brine they use on the roads around here towing on an open trailer is a death sentence to the aluminium and finish of your bike. Back of the truck helps keep it cleaner but still isn't perfect. I've been keeping my eye out for a good 14 ft enclosed trailer. Enclosed is really the best way to protect your investment. Even covered the wash still makes its way to the underside of your toys.

I miss the days when they used sand only. Good times.

Agree... Just hate keeping the truck for that reason... Would rather just dump it.

As for the price... I was talking more concept. Found one for $200 as well and was thinking of just adding a salt shield.

Thanks for the feedback. Have some time to figure it out.

You could pick up a cheap frame trailer at harbor freight.. Build it like you want.
