2 Years ago I picked up a "2002 summit 800" Thats was were everything went wrong.

1st thing I found out was about the motor in my 800. It melted down the next year and when I went to rebuild it I found out it was a 700.:mad2:

2nd I found out that the dpm was removed and it had round slide carbs. that lead me to investigate the tag on the motor was for a 2002 summit 700 well the motor code was for a 2000 summit 700 explaining the boost bottle and the roundslide carbs.

3rd Today I found out that the mpem was wrong as well. Now this is my first ski-doo and I have learned my lesson to look very close to what I am buying.

So in all I now have a Summit 800 chassis, a 700 motor, and finally I have flatslides and the correct Mpem :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2:

Now who wants to buy it I'll give it to you for a steal?

Not to add to your frustration, but that's a 2003 hood.

where do you live and how much?

LOL its a millennium edition seat as well, Not to mention it had a 2000 MXZ mpem with no dpm. Now it has a new re-maped mpem with dpm.(just added today)

looking to get $2200 this sled has a new motor Did the crank and top end last year, Dual ring piston kit, 151 track, 4" angled riser, flat slide carbs, dpm, re-mapped mpem and new belts.
 
And looking at it a little closer, I think that might be a 2000 Millenium Edition tunnel, seat, and rear skid. I think you got yourself a 2000 700 ME with a 2003 800 hood that the guy told you was a 2002 800. Sweet.

Edit: You beat me to it on the Millennium seat.

Ha ha. Yeah I dont think the guy I bought it from knew either. It was his first sled and he bought it from a buddy he told me. The vin is a 2002 summit sport R. It should run perfect for my ride tomorrow.
 
So you've replaced all the crucial parts of this sled. Now you know it inside and out. Why are you going to sell it?
 
Yes - that is an '02 or '03 bulkhead/tunnel, not a 2000. I can tell via the front rear susp mount bolt hole.

Sure looks like it is in really nice shape!

I doo question the rear grab bar tho. ??? That aint stock '02 Summit that I know of, but maybe off an '03? It sticks out a LOT further than an '02!

I still think that it looks like it has lived an easy life!

Yeah it is a 700 And it is in very good shape I take very good care of my sleds and I have cleaned polished and got this sled looking good. The grab bar was my own personal mod I pulled it out and boy it is the best mod I have made so far.

The 700 engines are for the most part are more reliable than the 800. I would keep it now that it's fixed.
But if you've got some money to burn. Go and get a new sled!!
 
didnt the 02s have 2 boggies up front on each side?the attack angled was changed in 02 from 00-01/.00-01 had 1 on each side up front.

Removed the one it did have two.

I also changed the light cove if you didnt notice its split and now the 4" 30Degree riser from RSI but it is missing the windshield due to a roll on friday.

No Damage Just a bad parking Job.
