hey guys just woundering what gears your running on a t nytro im changing from 7 to 8 tooth drivers and woundering what gears i should use ?

Just a quick question. What made you decide to gear up your driver? What was your intended goal or benefit from doing this?

Like BCBoost said, mountain machines work great at 2:1 in general. The stock Nytro comes with 7 toot drivers and a 20/40 gear combo for a ratio of 2.00. If you increase your drivers tooth count you would need to reduce the teeth on your Drive gear.

If you have not gone and bought the 8 tooth drivers I would consider the 7 tooth Avid drivers. They have longer teeth on them and maintain contact with the track longer than stockers. With a turbo I really would no worry about the rolling resistance difference beween a 7 and 8 tooth driver.

When changing drivers from 7 to 8 tooth you need to gear down to compensate, not gear up as changing to an smaller lower gear does.
Changing from 7 to 8 tooth is an 12 mph gear up, ~ from 86 to 98 mph with 20/40 gearing.
To compensate for the bigger drivers you can gear 18/40 = 88 mph with 8 tooth drivers.

If you haven't changed drivers already i would consider Avid 7 tooth instead, as Motleyone also said, they work.
