toppers: LEER vs ARE/others

I am a dealer for ARE, Range Rider, Arrow and Snug Top. Don't have as much experience with the Leer's but they are all quite similar. I know the ARE's and Snug Top's are at the top of the pricing ladder, but also have the best fit, styling and options.

The ARE's, Leer's and Snug Top's are very comparable in features and (generally speaking) in prices. They are the top brands as far as quality from what I've seen over the years. ARE has excellent fit and has my favorite styling....it's been around for years, but still no one has built a better looking cab-high than an ARE Z-series. Snug Top has some really unique canopy's with integrated roof racks etc, definetly check them out. Again can't comment as much on the Leer's but I know they're right in the mix.

The factory compatable keyless locking is slick.

I've never had a problem with paint in any brand to speak of....even the cheaper offerings, they all seem to do a good job.

I've had 3 different ARE campers. Go with the Z series with pop out side windows instead of the sliders, get the fold down middle window so you can clean between the shell/truck.

I've got an ARE because the other brands were out of my price range, unless prices have changed recently, I believe mine was about 1K less than comparable Snugtop or Leer. A sixfoot, single lock, drop down cab window was around $1,700 5 years ago. Paint match was right on, as a former auto painter I had no complaints on color match or quality.

Snug-Top here and I am very pleased with the fit, color match, and the side flip up window !! >>>>
