Top Gear bolt broke

Was doing pre-season maintenance changing the chain case oil on a 24 Expert removed the rubber plug to refill it and the bolt for the top gear was just sitting inside the rubber plug, It had broke in the shaft, Anyone ever heard of this happening? Going to call the dealer Monday and ask if they have heard of this happening before but thought I would get a faster response on the forums.

I have to ask, was any work done to the chaincase? Did you happen to take notice of the orientation of the washer?

Nothing.done the sled that would have any effect on that. I’ll check on the washer in the morning.never thought to check if it was a conical washer
