Too Much Oil

I had an 2002 800 Edge that used 2 times as much oil as my 2002 700 Edge.

Never had any real issues, gooy VES Valves all the time.
I adjusted the thing everyway possible, even replaced the pump
I mean Lots of oil Like 28 / 1. The 700 was always like 42 / 1.

Yes I checked each ounce of oil and every quart of gas.

My 900 uses way to much oil ---

Am I going to be wasting my time trying to adjust the cable on the Pump ??

36 ounces of for 7 gals of gas 25 /1
40 ounces of oil for 9 gals of gas 28/1


Seems like the Higher the compression Motors just suck more oil thru the pump.

Premix anyone ????

You cant pre mix on the 900 you need the inj for the crank bearings. My 900 uses about 32 oz per tank of gas plus i run 8oz in the gas every tank.
I like pre mix to it just wont work on the 900.

so what is a tank do you measure ?

is a tank 12 gals of gas ?

32 for 12 gallons is about 48 /1.
 
You can adjust the cable back on the pump a little bit if you like... Generally the factory sets them to oil somewhere around 30:1 from the different sleds I have seen measured. About the leanest you would want to go on an oil injected motor is around 40:1... reason being is because there are spots the oil is not distributed evenly to where-as premix does.
 
So how do I adjust it Remove the Injectors ?

So the Edge had a threaded end on the cable and a jam nut.:clock:
 
How are you guy's seeing the oil pump to line up the marks and get at the cables to adjust them:face-icon-small-con:face-icon-small-sad, I removed the throttle body as far as I can with out disconecting anything and really can't see the alignment marks. maybe I'm just old but sheeez.:face-icon-small-fro:face-icon-small-fro:face-icon-small-fro
 
With a small mirror and a flashlight you can find it. The throttle bodies need to be in place, otherwise you will be pulling on the oiler arm when you move the throttle body around.
Adjusting can be done most easily by removing the primary clutch. Once the clutch is off, you will be able to access the oiler cable end to adjust.
