I'm with you 100% high time. Prices are outrageous and performance is lagging behind what a guy could find in the year 2003. I'm personally not a fan of rider forward but that's pretty much all that is available. I rode this weekend with a friend of mine who purchased a new D8, after a month of tuning it still doesn't run quite as strong as his mildly modded 2003 VE 800, but at least it's close. We ran a few rutted steep chutes, my old style dinosauris blew up them like it was on a rail. The dragon bobbled in the ruts and takes a lot of muscle to hold a straight line through the chop. New and improved doesn't always mean new and improved, one step forward two steps back seems to be a better fit.
