Interesting article. I am starting to get a better picture for why you guys don't like farmers.
I don't understand the whole blindness to flooding. Like with the Mississsippi River. It floods low in the state, then they build dikes and barriers, then it floods in the middle of the state, then they build more dikes and barriers, then it........
I remember a good quote once from National Geographic about the flooding in New Orleans. It goes something like this.
"The difference between a flood and a catastrophe are the dikes and barriers."
The point was that it is never a matter of if, it is a matter of when. The barriers and dikes create a false sense of security and allow for the damage to become much much worse than if the dikes and barriers weren't there at all.
Rivers flood. It is a part of there cycles and is natural part of a river. I guess it is hard to see though.

That article about says it all. Tony Dean is an idiot. Lets bite the hand that feeds you I wish he would have the balls to say stuff like that to the farmer when he is taping his hunting show on a farmers land. If he made a comment like that to the farmers face he would be run out of there in a hurry. What a moron. At least he is done with his hunting show as he has turned it over to a young man by the name of Jason Mitchell a fishing guide out of Devils Lake, ND.

They guy puts nature and all it encompasses at teh front of his persona. Obviously you don't like him, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find him contradicting himself or acting like a hypocrite.
Tony Deans a moron. When I was an agent for Farm Bureau it came to me how much of an idiot this guy is. Last article I saw him write was about trying to get passage to wetlands landlocked by private land. You know rather than ask the farmer if you can cross their land to be able to cross without permission without reguard that if a farmers bull tramples a hunter the farmer is liable because the hunter would not be considered a trespasser by legal standards. I get the impression Tony's a greenie that puts up a wall between sportsmen and hunters when there doesn't need to be.
