what is the difference? whats most popular. is one warmer then the other. i'am leaning twords the tomahawk

The Valdez is the top of the line and has 3 layer tech. The Tomohawk has 2 layer tech. The exterior and looks are very similar.
For max warmth you would want the Klimate, but you'll be hot in the spring time.

I have an older Valdez, and will probably go with the Tomohawk this season.

The valdez also uses the new Pro Shell which breathes a little bit better and also is more durable. Either jacket is great, both are outer layer pieces and for most riding, you can probably get away with not wearing alot of under layer pieces especially if you are in the backcounttry where there is not a lot of wind and really cold air. If you do not want to spend the coin on the valdez, the tomahawk is bascially last years valdez except cosmetically for $100 cheaper.

I had the Tomahawk last year, and it was a great coat. I'm trying the Valdez this year just for something new. I liked the 3 layer tech they put on the Valdez this year. It's supposed to be on your shoulders, and arms where the wind hits you. Not sure it's worth the extra $100, but we'll see. You won't go wrong with either one IMO!
