Togwotee trail riding in Early Jan?

I am looking at coming out from the east coast to do some trail riding around Yellowstone. Need some info.

Places to stay? Looking at lava lodge right now.

Tour / Rental places to go into Yellowstone?

Is the riding typically good around the first of the year?

I am also looking at maybe staying in West Yellowstone.
