Togwotee Conditions? Sled choice?

We are heading out to Togwotee in a week or so, and was wondering what the snow is like? This trip I can only bring one sled, and usually ride my IQR 136" for spring riding/low snow and don't have a problem. But it looks like its still dumping snow, and I am wondering if I should take the D8 163". Anybody have any opinions on this?

This is not my first time to Togwotee as we go almost every year. Last year I brought both around early Jan and ended up just riding the IQR the whole time because of the low snow conditions.

P.S. IQR Mono 800 that runs pretty damn well, 136x2 track, actually setup very well for off trail/boondocking (for a coupled 136 skid).

Ahh, really wish I could take both! Watching weather looks like snow the first two days and temps in the 30's for highs. I am way more familiar with the IQR, and have the clutching tip top in all conditions. Just picked this 09 up to mainly part it out. Not as good at throwing around the D8.

Wasn't planning any outwest trips this year or I wouldn't of sold the pro earlier in the season.

Maybe I'll give the rental shop up there a call.

Thanks for the recommendations and any more.

I would bring the IQR, 136 will get around just fine out there with the current conditions, especially if you are more comfortable on that sled.

Thanks, still up in the air, decided to do a engine swap in the IQR (same style engine, just better case matching and porting). So if I can finish it and run it for a bit before Tuesday I will bring it. Otherwise I setup the Dragon today, re-geared, clutched and PCIII with some maps from Jim at Dynotech. Seems to go pretty good!

Yep, you are correct! Could of brought a 121" and gone anywhere. Well due to a midweek screwup I blew a chaincase on the IQR and took the 163". Couple of renters in the crew switched to 600's after the first day, snow was so set. Even when we did find some it wasn't very deep. Don't get me wrong there is a TON of snow out there, but it is SET.
