tobe gear quality

I ordered a Monosuit but ended up sending it back due to sizing, i.e. it was WAY to big. I'm 6' and ordered an XL as the sizing chart said to go by height and 5'9" is Large, 6'1" is the XL, and 6'2" is the XXL. It was huge. The suit was over 6' from the cuffs to the shoulders, not including the hood. Looking at the size chart again I was even more confused.

I'm 6', 195 lbs, with a 32" inseam, 40" chest, 37" waist (at the belly button)

So according to the chart, XL body length, L inseam, XS chest and waist.

I'd really recommend trying it on before you buy if you're able to.

As far as quality goes, I can only give what impression I had examining the suit since I didn't use it. It seems to be on about the same level as the the nice Motorfist gear, but not as nice as the top level Klim gear.

My good friend got two free sets of gear from them, and he now buys klim, out of his own pocket. If that helps. Don't both with motor fist just get klim and be done buying gear for life.

Ummmmm.... Mono Suit????

No, Thank You.

They have to be baggy and oversize otherwise they would restrict movement. Having and upper and lower shell means you can fit more closely and maintain full range of arm/shoulder movement.

There is a reason the bag comes and goes. Subsequent generations do not get the message from their elders. Just say no to the bag.

I ordered a TOBE monosuit from blownmotor and rode with it for my first time this past weekend. I was very impressed with it and how well it worked. I am about 5'8" and about 215 pounds with a very broad chest and shoulders and I have zero complaints with the fit. Product worked well in the waterproof/warmth department as well.

Have you tried one on? If not... think you might want to before making that statement. I order one this fall and really like the fit, quality, and breathability. It is not baggy at all and I find it fits much better than my old Klim gear.

Thank you

I like the onesie but the material is lesser quality than klim. I had trouble with my zippers catching on the trim piece next to it and sent it back. It took several months to get back and all they did was remove the trim on the main zipper. All the pockets still stick.

Why would I try one on? I am VERY happy with my Klim gear and I have no desire to follow fashion trends while riding. I think the one piece suits look rediculous but, good for you going out and buying one. I am sure it looks fine on you.... snicker snicker.

Yeah! Like my rotary phone - it just plain works. If it ain't broke, and I am an old stick in the mud, why change? Yeah.

I got a pair of the Enging bibs, Went by there size chart, waited 6 weeks before they showed up. Got them the day before Christmas, and they don't fit. They are to small. Sent them back and told then if I have to wait another six weeks for a new pair just credit my card. The quality did look good though.

I bought the new mono suit with kevlar a couple weeks ago. I am 6'4" 235lbs and I ordered a XXL according to their size chart and it's huge, I'm swimming in the thing. Other than that I loved it, I'm one of those people that is hot all the time and I found that the mono suit helped regulate my body temp better so I wasn't always overheating. Everyone else I was riding with thought it looked sweet and most were jealous that I never had any snow in my suit no matter how deep the powder was.

I was a huge TOBE fan when they first came out. Their first run of coats were outstanding and I used it for a number of years until I decided it needed replaced. Went with another TOBE and was very disappointed in the overall quality and how fast it started to let me get wet. I have different TOBE coats and am currently wearing my first Klim. So far I love the Klim but time will tell as it is still fairly new. Pretty much everything works well when new... I can't speak to how the latest TOBE stuff is but the mono suits looks straight up RETARDED, but that is just me. To each their own. As far as Motofist goes, I am currently riding in a pair of their bibs after a pair of TOBE pants where a major disappointment. I like the motofist so far and they work well but I'm on my soon to be third pair in two years. Their warranty is absolutely outstanding but so far that has been crucial. I had a very light for me riding season last year and the bibs worked great until the let zipper completely blew out mid ride. Just couldn't figure out why my left let was suddenly so cold, wet, and filled with snow... But took them back to my dealer where I bought them, they handed me a brand new set (although didn't have the exact style and size of the ones I bought), and set me out the door with a promise of a phone call as soon as the pair I brought it was returned. Some weeks later, I can't remember exactly how long, got a phone call, swung by the shot and they traded me my "loaner" pair for my repaired bibs (or brand new ones of the same style and size, I couldn't tell although I'm 80% they were new). Now after only the second ride of the year, crappy snow year up here so far, the stitching in the *** is completely blown out (insert joke of choice here). So back to the shop I go tomorrow. Maybe my third pair will be better...??? Keep in mind this is only my experience and may not be indicative of all motofist products.

FWIW, I may be done with motofist as well. Dropped my pants off today and didn't receive a loaner pair this time. Not that I expected to, it was just REALLY nice the first time around. So now I am without pants until mine are fixed and returned which will probably be at least a couple/few weeks. If I have to buy a new pair to avoid missing riding days, they will be Klim, and I doubt I'll be going back.

Sorry for the derail, back to topic.

I thought motorfist offered some "bluebird" warranty deal. Wasn't it standard that they gave you a loaner set while waiting so you never miss a "bluebird"'day?

We do have a loaner program and can get you gear to ride in ASAP.

Contact us at jake@motorfist.com. Or call us and we will get you gear while your is repaired.

Wasn't aware of that. I'll talk to the dealer today and see what they say. I've always been very happy with the performance of the gear, jury is still out on the zippers and stitching for me. Although my dealer said he hadn't seen any examples like mine, usually someone being an idiot and not opening the cuffs before shoving their foot/boot through. Then complaining that their gear ripped out...

Edit: Dealer took take of me as always. Didn't have any pants/bibs that would fit me in stock so the owner loaned me his extra personal pair for as long as I need them.
