To rebuild or part out?!

I acquired a 2003 Pro x 700 for $700 the other night. Guy said it just needed a top end rebuild but further investigation aka engine tear down has revealed that I will also need one new jug and probably crank work.

Machine only has around ~1400 miles
Has SLP single pipe, y pipe and can set up


Just want to see if I can make my money back here.

Part it out. Although I don't know what your local market for parts from that vintage are like. Here in Utah you might get $500 just for the chassis and with the other things on it you would probably be able to recoup your $700.

But to get it running you are going to have to through another $1500+ at it most likely to get a cylinder and crank. Maybe need cases worked on too?

Yeah, just cut your loses now and get what you can for the parts.
