TM8 vs M1000 vs 900rmk

Sad part is that was a TM8 and it shoulda shown alot more difference than that.. Put a turbo on the 1000 or the 900 and re-match.

Exactly...

You think about it, the result is about what you would expect... The 800 could have been stronger, but the outcome is still no surprise...

You got a turbo 800 pushing probably over 200 hp...
a 999 pushing about 165 hp
and a 866 pushing about 152 hp...

the results are about what one would expect really...

Neat video tho, I really wanna get up on the hill now:D:D:D:beer;:beer;

i think this makes an awsome add for tracks!! a way bigger track on the lower powered sleds definately helps close the gap in the deep snow.

They weren't even close to the turbo. The m8 even let out of it and got back into it. It shows what everyone would expect of this comparison. Not sold on the track comparison either.

Next time your in the flathead, let one of us know...we will take you out with a stock (except track) XP...that has a 174x16x3.0" track, and you would be BLOWN away where that thing will get even compared to my little sled...

I would love to go. I have never run against a 174. I would like to see what they will do. I know I wouldn't want one. I will stick with the 151- 153 range. I can put it in tighter spots. I have had 162's and it takes more real estate to turn them out.

amen... it is truely insane what the longer tracks can do in this snow! the 153 TM8 is probably running the stock 2.25 track, not a bad track, but they fold over a LOT when bigger power is added, the 174 must be 2.5 and the 166 is 2.125"?

again, the amount of lugs, and the size of the lugs on the track has a LOT to do with performance, kinda like bald mud tires, they may be big, and you may have 500hp... but there still bald!

I was riding the 900. I guess my point in posting the video was to show people how big of a difference a turbo makes. I realize I was poaching and I made it out the next try in fresh tracks but i had to side hill the entire top portion. In fact you can see my tracks when the M1000 pulls out. The TM8 actually let off at the top of that hill becouse there is a ridge and a 40-50 foot drop on the other side.

if your not sold on track length, why do you think a shorty cannot ride in pow at all. the longer is going to be better. maybe someone will post vid of a stock motor sled, with a 174x3x16. they dony have great track speed but they tractor up damn near anything.

What about those bald mud tires?!? sounds familiar

I think that we are kinda straying from what slednw was originally trying to get at with this video however. If that was a stock (na) 800 it would be failing in comparison to the other two sleds in the video. Basically what it comes down to is build a sled with a whole bunch of power and throw a big tack on it and you will have a climing machine!! depending on what kind of riding you do there are more appropriate track lengths than others and same goes for motor mods.

Regardless, boost + a big track + a half decent rider = highmark

166 is 2.4:beer;

you can watch on buradnts backwoods on his deep powderday even tho its a tm8 it still trugles when he takes off once he gets just a little bit of speed and gets up on the snow then it rips a well clutched xp with 174 would destroy tm8 in deep fluff in the trees on an open hill that might be a differnt story still be close, some of you will say no-way tm8 153 makes way to much trackspeed ect most of you never rode with a well setup 174, there are alot of them here in the flathead thats for a reason alot of tight tree'd areas if there wasnt a differnce in them they wouldnt be makeing longer and longer tracks. i like the guys that say there 144s can stay with a 174 when you see alot of them strugleing to make it on flat ground in 3ft of fluff

i can say my 174 was strugleing in about 6ft of fluff my cousin on his 174 xrs jumped off the side of the road by the first big hillclimb up lost jhonny stuck instantly all we could see was the top of his helmet it was that deep and bout -10degrees out funny how the 150s sled were staying on the road

TM8 took the step fresh
RMK crawled and poached a track
m1000 took a less steep line and poached

so whats the point or message?
