Sled is a 2010 M8 OVS Tial kit. I just put on a stock 2010 HO head, larger compressor housing and the OVS timing module. I'm running 50/50 91/112 mix and was at 7k feet today.

I wanted to get out today and get my PL box dialed in. I didn't get the chance to change anything due to the sled would die every time I'd give it full throttle. When I'd give it full throttle, the motor would shut off, RPM's would disappear on my gauge (I'll I could see was altitude and odometer) no codes, no temp light, nothing.

Sled would fire up afterward and idle and take off ok, but each time I'd get on the gas it would shut off. After the 3rd time I loaded it back up and figured I'd call OVS and see what they suggested.

So I was watching the temp light b/c I know I took more coolant out of the sled when I changed the head than what I put back in. After I switched the head I filled the bottle back up, lifted the front end and let the sled idle until I could fill the rear cooler getting warm. I went through 5 or 6 cycles like that before I took it out.

Anyhow, I only went 2 miles before I loaded it up. The sled ran great prior to these changes. I'm wondering if my issues have something to do with the new head or the timing key?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

Thats a fair bit of changes all at once, so id just start trying to narrow it down. That timing module i believe isnt all that bad to remove and put back to stock to rule that out? Id check er all over, especially for grounds, like the sneeky one on the back of the post support hoop, to the box, etc. Some squirrly issues can result from a bad ground i have found. Good luck man, sounds like it should be a ripper with the changes you made!

I have an OVS kit on a 1000 and it has done this 3 different times, all 3 times different problems. Did you happen to look at any of your guages, like your boost gauge, fuel pressure, or your fuel box? That may give you a hint to what is going on. First time it was my fuel pressure regulator went out, and on full throttle it would actually just fall off, eventually the pressure just spiked and my sled would die.

Once I got that fixed, my very next ride my boost contoller failed. When I got passed 3/4 throttle sled would again die, watching my gauges the boost needle would yacht itself out.
Got that fixed, and currently my PL box is not sensing boost, I checked the lines and they are ok, applied pressure to my box and no blue light, so now I have a box on the way.

After each thing went wrong and I fixed it, I would get about 1/2 day ride before the next thing went out......its been very frustrating.

I know your problem could be a host of other problems, but that's what mine was doing and what I noticed on the gauges.

Good luck.

AFR gauge is working OK. Not sure on the boost gauge? I never really had the chance to build much boost. I watched the boost while I was blipping down the road and the needle would come up a little but no more than a few lbs on the gauge. My fuel pressure was at 37, which is the same pressure that it was at all last season.

I may have to increase the fuel pressure b/c the sled doesn't want to idle well once it's warmed up. By increasing the pressure, does that change anything else with my setup?

Trial and error :).

I called Travis and got it figured out. When I plugged in the Timing Module I plugged in into the wrong plug in the ECU. It was late Christmas day and I obviously wasn't going to call Travis to ask which plug to connect too. There was a black one and a white one. So I went with white, which is the RPM sensor. It needs to be plugged into the black plug.

So to all those installing a timing module, use the black plug :).

thanks guys
