Hi all,
here are the links:

Part 1 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZLjSRZ0mN0
Part 2 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwPkQHoaphs

So there you go, about 15 minutes of pure torture as I look outside and still can't see any snow... 15 minutes versus a few dozen hours for putting it all together...

I'm pretty happy on how it turned out, except for that old school '80s TV format that most call "4-3" and that youtube still uses... Damn everything you see in there has been shooted in 1080 High Def and in 16-9 format... so it would kick FAT asses on real TV but the youtube movie just don't make it look right... the image itself on youtube looks like cr@p actually...

Now for the content !

Can we say a 503 is manoeverable ?

Snow-Hawk : 1 , 2-1/4" OD Steel tube : 0 !!! Hahahaha, I wondered how an XP would hava handled that !!!

Hawkfest : I would have put more but all the footage I had from saturday was not awesome...

Part 1 - 6:36 to 6:45 is such an awesome shot !

Part 2 - 0:49 Justin ! You're the man for 180s, i'm still jaleous about this one !!!

Part 2 - 3:22 to 3:32 From the moment I made that turn, my torque limiter was just slipping the heeeeeeeelll out right 'til I released the gas...

Part 2 - 4:33 to 4:39 This is the most incredible demonstration of countersteering turning I have ever seen any Hawker do !

SNOW-HAWK FOREVEEEEEEEEER !!! I'd jump on on mine right away...

Hey have fun and post your comments !

Thierry

Sorry to do this but this is what I found this morning. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Damn !
I'm doing a beard strike to get some snow for 4 weeks now:eek:... and so far nothing has happened yet...

Thank you soo much Thierry

The amount of hard work that went into this is incredibe. Not only did you stay focussed all season to capture such awesome footage, but the time to edit this must have been more hours than even you probably realize.
Tony calls every night and I give him a Snowest update and I am not going to tell him about your video even being up yet because it will sincerly be to much for him to handle having to wait to see it.
One other poing, you are an amazing rider.

Thank you for staying focused last year and capturing such great footage. Your first film is how I found you on the internet, I still love seeing the mini car pull the Hawk. A testiment to who you are!! A unique person with many talents.

Thanks again!!!

Tam

That gave me a woody,it was difficult to sit and wath it all,lol
That is some incredible footage, some of the best I've ever seen. Never ridden in conditions like that,I'm lucky if I don't see patches of gravel and grass on a ride. One day hopefully I will be able to make it out to ride this kind of snow.
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

holy crap! im gonna have to check into rehab if we dont get any snow soon!!!! that was awesome!!! great job. how could you not want a hawk after seeing that. watch the number of views on youtube on that one!!! rock on...

can somebody describe the feeling of the snow touching your nuts or womens part? im lucky if it touches my ankles by the end of winter. sometimes i think of running a tire on the front insted of the ski for the dirt i have to ride on....

You said it all right there Tammy, If you want to do a movie, you gotta stop riding for yourself and start riding for the camera... if you want to end up with a decent movie... And that's a tough thing !!! When you got a virgin field or hill of pow right in front of ya, you gotta tell the camera guy to get that out and press record AND THEN do your chit... Doing the opposite just ruins the footage...

BuffaloHAWK : having fresh snow right up to your balls with your hawk a few feet away is just... The best thing on earth !

Thanks for such great comments, I appreciate very much !

I think I'm sterile......so there are side effects or at least promotes that frost bite look........Ok subject change....

Mr. Buffalo you need to quit your job, sell the house and get over here, damn we have the goods over here, you just won't believe it!!!! So many times last year it was almost too deep!
At least winter over here....

-Dang Thierry that's some mighty fine footage, you're an inspiration to watch and strive for. Can't wait to see you in person again at hawk fest.

-Hawk heads start charging you're batteries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you ****ting me ,I was hoping to come ride with you guys this year and see some good snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Well make sure you make your way to Hawkfest because the snow there is bottomless.

And we can all show eachother the tricks we've learned.

People from the Mt. Baker version from section one
It opens showing our garage>Then Tony's beautiful pristine 503 that has never had gas in it>Then it opens with a shot of me coming out of our truck> then you see Brian McCurdy>
Tony in our truck>
the people talking are Brad (600)
Paul "the Dentist" (2 503) and his wife Laura
then you see Harley on his 503(he bought it without even riding one) and now he has two of them, he sold Polaris Dragon and got it
Then I believe it's Dave on the 800 -he went over the waterfalls that day
Then Gary is in the shot with his red jacket
Then Theirry is having some fun on a hillside
Then Brian shoots up the hill- a gifted rider

I think that we had 27 Hawks there last year. We were missing 6 local machines that didn't come because there was a conflict with another event.
Like every Hawkfest we have other people on their machines coming up to try out the Hawk. Honestly I don't know how many people came for that.

How are these Hawks in acctual POW and climbing? Flip Floppin around looks fun and all, but can tehy acctually get somewhere, Boondock in the deep?

Curious, not bashin, Ive never see one in person.

Banditpowdercoat, very good question !

I'd be reaaaallly curious to compare "apples with apples". So mine, an 800HO 144" with something similar in power & track so that would be an '06 Rev Summit 144" with the 800HO motor in it. Comparing Hawk against a 162" XP with the 800R motor is just not comparing apples with apples... !

"Correctly tuned", that mean we would have the right jetting (because beleive it or not it's not right at all from OEM), we would take off the rear snow flap and have a good mountain clutch setup (because it's totally wrong from OEM as well), I think the weight saving of the Hawk could make for the difference of our 13" wide track and hold on an 800HO powered Summit 144 without too much problem. Once you're going forward in deep snow, it's really going ok (and trmednesouly fun) in deep powder. I remember going through 36-40" of pow with my 144 (on flat, not climbing) with no problem at all, don't stop or release the gas though ! Of course, going uphill is different.

Let's forget right now about following any 162" XP with mine, going through 3' powder with that thing just seems like a joke ! I don't know how better are the 159" Hawks, I've seen the demo model they took the official pictures with at '07 Hawkfest in Quebec and Kim actually succeeded to trench it down. Of course if you really want to trench down a Hawk, you'll be able to...

Other than that, I think sleds for deeeeeeep stuff (I'm talking deeper than 36" going uphill) will probably remain better than Hawks. But the important thing here I think is that I can still make my way into decently deep powder, so 24-32" is not a problem even with the wrong secondary clutching AD Boivin put as the stock setup on our MTN machines. And I'm expecting to get the clutching a lot better this year as the secondary setup we have has a green spring and 50/40 Helix, which is totally wrong for deep stuff (that's an agressive, sea level, trail setup, really awesome in trails, I did try it on an 800HO top gun at sea level in a Qc trail with this setup and it was just scary), doesn't allow for enough backshift and that's a major thing I noticed last year on mine, if I'd go up a hill and "add some load" to the clutch by hitting a bump or a deeper soft spot, the motor would just be killed and drop 1500-2000 RPM... NOT the way to go... then anybody laughed at me because I got stuck in the hill... ! And then because of that, Snow-Hawks do have a bad reputation in deep snow... ! But I truely think that having a good secondary clutching will make all the difference here and this is what I'm focusing on this year !

Maybe that'll be something I'll be able to do this year, comparing mine with an '06 144 Summit 800HO ! I'd like to !

Part of the reason we decided to do Hawkfest this year in Montana was to hold an event here in the states with extreme snow fall. It's a reasonabe drive for anywhere in the Western US to come and see for themselves the performance of these machines in deeep snow and hill climbing. So please watch the videos and learn for yourself, but if you can bring your ride and hang with us and ride for yourself.

Tammy

I watched the video at my friend's place on a 50 something inch HD TV yesterday. It is just unbelievebly nice and great:beer;:beer;:D, will bring a copy at Hawk fest so we can play it during the dinner like we did with some of the other movies last year.
