Looking for some feedback on trying to improve traction on those slippery mountain slopes...had the truck and trailer sideways a couple of times coming down a narrow path in the spring that was pure ice...headed towards a cliff ...although i amazed both my buddy and myself that i was able to save our asses- i am not looking to repeat that experience...
there are very limited "winter" tire options for a 1 ton...running 35" mickey thompsons right now all year round...was wondering if putting aftermarket sipes in these would help for on ice? anyone actually done this? i know the "salesman" says that it does...but you can't trust them...i mean, i think it was the same salesman who sold my buddy his doo saying that it would beat my cat....and we all know how that turned out...hehehe
seriously, anyone done this? does it work? or waste of money?
...or....does anyone know of a man-truck sized winter tire? biggest i can find is a 285/70/17 with a "D" load rating...
