Will somebody with a good scale and fresh snow (Probably back east) Go outside and fill something with 125lbs of snow and take a freaking picture.
Please weigh the container empty, and take a pic.

I would, but it hasn't snow in Mt for over a month.

I would look at it this way. Snow, or water melted down would weigh 8 pounds per gallon. So 125 pounds of snow would equate to 15 gallon jugs strapped to your sled. Of course the density of the snow would be much less than water so one would have a significantly greater number of containers to hold the snow. That is a lot of snow to be carried on a sled. My guess is a sled loaded with wet snow carries less than 20 to 30 pounds unless the whole skid is packed with snow. I've ridden with a 2014 pro ride for 2 years and while they do shed snow better than the pro they still carry a fair share. The claims in the vid are fluff.

Great info,
I'm hoping to see what actual fresh snow (the kind you ride in) looks like in volume.

thanks

I"m no expert but just by using google it appears the most conservative estimate would be a volume of 3 to 1 so at a minimum the pro would be packing a volume of enough snow to fill a 45 gallon container.

Ok so what does 9, 5 gallon jugs look like? Anyone carry just one 5 gallon jug on your tunnel..?

I think the video is a little biased myself. I do own a Pro RMK also. I know if I look inside my hood on my cats before I seal them up to keep the snow out there is a lot of ice inside the motor compartment from thawing and then refreezing. Same with the tunnel on my Polaris, in that kind of snow it melts and then refreezes to the tunnel and suspension and anywhere it can stick. I also know that the Yamaha hood in-jests snow like nothing I have ever seen. Funny the Yamaha didn't weigh more? I would of suspected the motor compartment to be a huge ice ball.

I have a 14 Prolite 163, Carrys less snow than any sled I've owned, constantly compare to the guys riding Pro and Doo, no comparison, way less on the PL.

Even the 80 lbs claimed for the Doo is absurd, the 124 lbs of snow packed into the Pro is so far out there I am amazed they still stand behind it. We are talking about packing between one and three 55 gallon drums filled with snow on a sled. It just isn't possible, there is no way my Pro has ever had 100 lbs+ of snow stuck to it, where would you put it all?

There is no putting it to bed. The Yammi guys will cling to it forever no matter how foolish it makes them look. Remember the Pro was still the lightest by 20 lbs with 20 lbs of unnecessary electric start. Oooops

My Pro does carry some more snow but, not 2-3 times what my buddies Cat and Doo. Never seen a Viper outside the showroom...

It is just a dumb paid advertisement trying to make light (pun intended) of the fattest mountain sled on the market by far.

Think of that much snow/water melting off your sled in your enclosed trailer or garage. If your poured out an honest 5 gal jug of water in your shop, you'd have a serious mess on your hands! Pour out 3 and youd be ankle deep! I know I've never seen anything like that, and don't think anyone else has either

I totally agree with everything you said, except my Pro does not carry more snow than any other sled. My buddies ride Doo's and totally agree that all season we are consciously comparing the snow on our sleds and my Pro carries less snow.
But we are only talking 1 or 2 pounds.

There is a saying:
Don't get in an argument with a moron, because they will bring you down to there level and beat you with experience. LOL!

I piled snow on a scale with a Skidsteer and it took three buckets or three yards of 0degree powder .. then packed plowed snow and it took one heaping bucket to get 124#

They had to have packed the enginge compartment and also all they showed in the skid and packed under the seat to get close .. I'm still betting that caddy on the back has a lead weight attached ( never did show a clear view of the entire thing)

I love Yamaha. I own a pretty heavily modified nytro and a pretty much stock pro.

Where is the cat? Oh yea, they have the same video in their version.

Why are they comparing stock 800's to a 4 stroke with an aftermarket turbo?

Real world? Watch me wiggle out of a trench on the pro and watch me dig to china on a Nytro. Watch me eating my hot pocket up top while the yamaha is digging out.

My Nytro is 100+lbs lighter and if people think that a lighter sled is key they are wrong. The pro just works. It pops up, it turns, the power is there, does not dig and it is fun.

What do I know...I live on the east and secretly bleed green.
