Timbersleds intake, better mounting?

Hi guys.
I bought a timbersleds intake last year and used it about three times...it rattled loose every time so i got tired of trying to get it to stay put :face-icon-small-fro

Any of you got any idea of how to mount the flange to the box so it wont f*@#ing pop of as soon as i start the sled? the screws that came with the intake is nothing but a bad joke :face-icon-small-sad

Thanks

intake

i used ultra black between the flange and boost box also on the screw heads never had any issues with it comming loose but i think the intake is causing my bog as it started the very next ride after i put it on

I just used a nut n bolt and threw the screws. Also duct tape where it connects so won't have any snow go through.

yeah, i have been thinking about that too...I'm just afraid that one of the bolts are going to shake loose and end up in the engine(firm believer in Murphy :P) but nylocks and/or the strongest thread glue i can find would probably cut it...even for me :becky:

Yes forgot to mention that, used nyloc nuts and loctite for insurance.

If they are coming out as soon as you start the sled sounds like they may have been over tightened and stripped the threads. Even lock tight won't help then. Your best bet is to go with the nut and bolt method, run it a while and then recheck the bolts just to make sure they are staying tight. I would recommend placing the nut on the outside that way just in case it would come loose you will notice it and there would be less of a chance of it going into the motor. The bolt might stay in place and look tight but the nut may come off and you would never know it in time. However it is highly likely that this will not happen if you use a nylock nut but you never know.
