Timbersled ski?

I doubt it other than the T sled guys. I haven't even heard an ETA for delivery of the new ski. I want to build a ski dolly set up for moving the bike around the garage but I don't want to build it for the Gen 1. The new ski with the center keel etc and added width is so completely different there's no point in doing things twice. Maybe Allen will chime in on a delivery date. If you recall when Simmonds brought out the Gen 3 it didn't show up in any real quantities till February so here's hoping.

Nope. I just picked up my 2013 kit and it came with the "temporary" gen 1 ski. I haven't had good luck with Simmonds getting stuff done on time but who knows.

New ski

Had a chance to use the pre production MH ski last April.
Side hill preformance much improved over the Gen 1 or stock Gen II Simmons.
The best part was how much improved the trail manners were over any other skis I have used in the past. This included the SnoHawk Exployer, 2Moto's Gen II w/shark fin and outside metal additions, the Gen 1 and a Gen II TS home built copy. One handed down the trail no problem.
Being 10" wide had good floatation and did not seem to load up.
It looks like this is the ski to have this season.

As fast as the snow bikes are advancing who knows what will come next season.

FYI to all that have odered 2013 Mtn. Horse kits.

The new ski has been a longer wait than expected. The holdup is not Simmons fault but the fault of the mold maker. They guaranteed the completion of the mold at a set date which has come and gone. This sucks…. But they are going to make it good with us by paying the drop shipping cost to the customers when they are available.

This is how it will work. All kits that have gone out the door for this season have been supplied with a 6” ski. This way you can go riding if there is snow. When the new ski becomes available we will drop ship everyone a new ski with a pre paid return label for the 6” ski to be sent back. If you got the kit from a dealer then the ski will be sent there and you will have to do the exchange there.
<O:p</O:p
This is not an ongoing problem for us and will never be again in the future. It is just this one time because it being a new idem. I just want everyone to know that it is not Simmons fault. They are a very stand up company that has worked out the exchange detail with the mold maker for us. And will not be an added expense for us or for Simmons. I think is really cool that these companies stand up and make it rite even for small companies like Timbersled and Simmons.

I am supper excited about this new ski and cannot wait to see what everyone’s opinion is of it after they run it. Timbersled guaranties that the Mtn. Horse will continue to evolve every year with new to the industry technology. We are in this for the long haul and will continue to build the best products available<O:p</O:p

What if we want to keep both ski's? I've herd that the old ski is good in spring snow?

When I picked up my kit Dave told me that was an option for us. Don't quote me on this but I think he said you could keep it for $200.00 but you'll need to ask Tsled to be sure.

M5

Yes, that is true if you want to keep the ski you can pay $200 for it. That is dealer price (normally it is $250). If you got your kit from a dealer you would pay them for the ski and we have a discounted price for them as well. In my opinion you will not need it. The new ski works good in the spring snow as well. The only time I thought it got harder to steer was in late May when the snow turn very hard and had some slimy slush on top. Basically it was like glacier snow. Even then it still worked well, just had stiffer steering than the skinny ski when riding at slow speeds.<O:p</O:p

I can't wait for the new ski to show up! went for the first ride today, and the gen 1 simmons is really hard to steer. If you can ride down the trail with one hand, I'm sold! it just sucks having to wait...

Ski Up Date

Sorry guys for the hang up on this new ski. We did not expect to have this many problems getting them. The mold maker messed up a part from personal mistake from the engineer and they are getting it fixed. This normally does not happen they say. This is a large company that should be very punctual and have dropped the ball on our new ski. Simmons is working on getting the mold maker to nail down a date. I will let everyone know as soon as I know. Hopefully will know this week. Again I am very sorry for the delay and please hang tight, it will come without a worry. I am glad we were able to supply everyone that got a 2013 kit with a 6” ski to get everyone by until the new one comes and to get everyone out riding.
