Timbersled RAW opinions?

I know is super early still...but what does everyone think of the New RAW kit? I've been waiting to jump on a kit ever since I rode one last year but just cant justify the 5500$ for a new one my local dealer wanted. I think this kit would be a good fit for me as snobiking would be kinda second to my snowmobile. My bike is a 2015 Husky FC350

I was just browsing through the Timbersled website. If you snocheck you can get 400$ off the 900$ TSS kit and they now offer financing, 3.99 for 36 months. Quite tempting...

the raw is going to be a great entry level kit I think. no pivoting (t-motion arm) but will still work well. Might not handle as good as an ST on the trail but youll still be snowbiking!

The nice thing about the RAW kit will be the ability to update it right up to the ST LE if you want. A guy could get into snowbiking for about $4500 if he already has a good bike to put it on. The more cost effective the kits are and the more used kits there are out there the more it will allow people to enter the sport and it will grow.

Can someone explain the difference between the pivoting vs non-pivoting. In my situation I doubt the think will ever even see much trail riding...

Honestly since the rounded tracks it's so much less of a factor. On the old flat tracks it made them handle a bit better but I can hardly tell mine from locked to pivot. I'd say for the price your sitting damn good. They nailed it with this product. Exactly what the market was after. A reliable and easy way to get people out shredding and keeping the affordable aspect of snowbiking alive and well. It's what helps grow it to the dort only riders or guys who have a bike and wanna try it out without spending what a sled costs to build one.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing next season, I just got my 2016 Husky FC350.

I think the RAW is pretty dang awesome. It's likely what I'll have next year. I'd prefer that you had the option to upgrade shocks on the RAW as a snowcheck option, but you can always to that later I guess.

It's more than just the trail. I find it helps in the trails as well. Or any time you cross another persons track.

The pivot allows the rails to tilt slightly, which means you have to lean it one way or the other a bit more from center before the track really responds, but it gives you some forgiveness when the ground beneath you might be hard in places and soft in others, or you need to get your weight shifted slightly without moving the track.
I personally like it a lot.

Great move on Timbersleds part.

Personally, i ran the pivot locked out on my '14 kit with the stock track. No pivot with the convex track wouldnt be giving up much. Besides the lack of pivot, paint and strap and the shock difference, you are getting '17 tech for only a bit more than the price of a used '14 kit or about the same price as a used '15 kit. Pretty good deal. And you know how it was treated from the start.

Only you can decide if the few differences are worth the extra money, but if that is the pricepoint you want to pay, i personally think the value is there.
