Timbersled Gearing Changes

It looks like when the timbersled went to splined gears in 2016 (I believe) the chaincase gearing changed from 17/20 to 17/17 and now it is 18/17 on the 2018 kits (not including RAW). Was there a change to the drivers to accommodate the gearing change in 2016 or do they just keep lower the reduction rate?

Thanks,
Kell

I believe they use a 6t driver verse 7t in 15 and older

Wouldn't a smaller driver (6 vs 7) be even less reduction? If that's the case they really have changed the gearing over the years, I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention...

More reduction. It's like running a smaller countershaft sprocket. Each rotation of shift moves the track less distance.

Yep, I was thinking about it backwards.

So its actually about the same between the years when you factor in the increase of ~17% reduction in the driver (7/6 = 1.166).

11-15 = (17/13)*(20/17) = 1.54
18 raw = (17/13)*(17/17) = 1.31

1.31 * 1.17 (% in driver change) = 1.53
