Timbersled and sales tax?

Could be because of the dealer network .... Don't know how organized they were last year
Edit I live in utah and ordered replacement parts over the weekend and was not charged tax.. Maybe they have warehousing in your state... I would ask.

I emailed them before my post and didn't get an explanation. They just said that they are NOW charging sales tax to any of my purchases.

Your in WA, you pay sales tax, why is this so upsetting?
I bet TS was taking the hit before and caught onto it, sounds like you got a discount for the last couple years.
washington has no state income tax, montana's is 6-7%. our state sales tax varies from around 6-8.5, the county i live in is 6.3, so its kind of a wash. I do love montana though, lots of friends and family there and its nice to look at a price and not have to figure the tax before you buy

With all the people buying off the internet. The state is losing money. So they are requiring business to change that states sales tax.
You need to support your local dealers. Stop make out of state people more rich. Support local so your dollars support your area.

Timbersled has been charging sales tax to Washington residents for years now. You must have been a lucky one not to be charged for some reason on prior purchases. Wrong. I don't pay sales tax on items ordered over the internet unless the company ordering from has a presence in this state. For example, i order items direct from Klim, first place parts, etc. No sales tax.
I would be happy to support local dealers if they provided a service I felt was worth paying a premium for. Unfortunately, I rarely find that. For example, i recently asked the service department at a local dealer to please install .56 springs in my front forks. They told me that they could "only get .54 springs". So either they are morons or they are to lazy to order from a supplier that provides the springs I asked for. If I pay top dollar for parts and service I expect good service by a knowledgeable staff. Otherwise I will order online and do it myself or pay a buddy to do it. I learned the lesson the hard way...yet again.
In order to understand this situation.... you will need to look into Nexus tax regulation in WA and other states .
Reagrdless, doesn't matter now because TS doesn't sell direct anymore. Polaris said "dealers only".

6-7% income tax sounds like a bargain but I'd rather pay 10 on what I spend than 5 on what I make!
WA state sales tax is 6.5%. Anything over 6.5% is your sales local tax. We're still at 7.8% over in Whitman county.
