Was looking around timbersled's website and came across their all terrain wheel kits. Love the idea and would like to have a set. Would come in handy moving the sled around for storage or repairs when theres no snow. That is Loved em until I saw the price!!! Really? $600 for a set of wheels you can strap to your skis? Just wondering if anyone felt they could make a nice set for less? Say around $100-$150? I know there are a lot of talented people on this site with different skills. :face-icon-small-ton

Belive it or not... not much profit in those AT sets for t-sled..

The wheels are the key... those sukkas are pretty durable and hold up well... You would be hard pressed to find a comparable alternative.

go buy 3 furniture dolleys from Harbor freight for $10 each. one for each ski and one for the track.

Already have the dollies for inside, I was talking about moving it from the shed to the garage which would mean taking it for a trip through the yard and up the driveway.

I had to go look and see exactly what they are. Pretty sure I could make something that would do the same thing for a lot less. Wouldn't be made out of Billet Aluminum though.

Wheel Kit

Wow, didn't know anyone made something like that.

I'm making a set using treated 2 x 10 and rails to go each side of the runner, just tall enough for the carbide to touch the bottom. I'll use some kind of vinyl cable for retention. They won't be as long as those in the photo, just long enough to leave some space between the tires.

I bought pneumatic tires with bearings at Northern Tool.

I have a terrible time moving my sleds between garages during the summer.

The two wheeled dolly really doesn't work well for mountain length sleds and I'm not sure what the pads would grip on a-arm type sled.

They really wouldn't need to be extremely tough just to use them every now and then, just enough to get the job done. It looks like the ones on the website are meant to be used while riding.

The T sled wheel kit is not a "dolly" type rig...

They are actually made for driving the sled off road... or...for what they mostly sell them for .... the snowbikes.

They take a huge amount of pounding...hitting rocks, ruts, etc etc...

Well I built my own set and the only thing that I can see that may be a problem would be that they are a little tall. Around $60 in materials for both of them so you can't beat that.

Well I got them out and used them yesterday with no problems. The only thing I do not like about them is that they sit up so high that it fully compresses the rear suspension and they are a little hard to turn but that is no big deal for the short trips I will use them for. Now I can tear my motor out to get it to indydan.
