Timber sled Front ends on Apex??

Want to get a Barkbuster for my Apex but was woundering how they hold up? Would like to here from sum that are running them on there ape's Have a holz now should I stay with it or switch to the T/S ?????? Thanks for and info that anyone may have on this

They hold up great to hard boondocking. I wacked a few things last year pretty hard and was surprised to see nothing was bent.

My only complaint is that the bushings they use are crap. They have alot of play in them and wear out very fast. The spindle bushings are way under rated for what they are doing. Last winter I switched to Ulmer racings Oil Lite bushings for the bulkhead and I HOPE he has them made now for the apex barkbuster arms. he had the Nytro stuff last year but not the apex. Then I just need to make some custom bushings for the spidles.

Oh, one last thing. There normal kit for the apex comes with spindles that are VERY aggressive. You have to adjust the suspension ~just~ right so the darting is liveable. You get off from that a little bit and you will be about rolling the sled on the trail at 40-50mph. They do have a trail kit that I understand is much better for darting. Eric

i got ts and its held up great, even jumped with it. yes bushings suck a grease zirk would be nice also. but i've been happy with it. good price for the most weight loss. compared to other kits

After putting them on my apex mtn I didn't like them, way too twitchy but after putting on the trail version spindles its way better. Still handles good in the powder but way more stable on the hard packed trail.
Bushes I must say are crap, mine already have too much play, I have olite bushes in the bulkhead but not on the a arms and that's where the movement is.
Over all a good product!!

Yup on the bushings,

Arms take a beating. Busted lots of bark. As mentioned before suspension adjustments are key. Or the sled is almost unrideable at trail speeds. In the trees boonin I love em.

i also jest put the timber on the front Wat changes do you have to do to the rear for it to ride on the trail

Rear skid....Front shock all the way stiff, limiter straps out. Rear springs set soft to medium. Ski shocks 95-100PSI or very firm on the pre-load. Toe needs to be about a 1/8- 1/4 out. This is with a 200lb rider inlcuding gear.

Oh yeah, I also have woody Dullies up front too. Eric
