Does anyone use one? I just got a 8x10 tilt bed to carry my atv behind a goose neck camper. I dont like the way they slam down when loading. Do they work? what brand is best?
Thanks,
Bruce

Those cheap gas shocks don't hold up in the winter, they blow their seals. When I had my tilt bed trailer, I installed a dual spring set up for the tilt function. It would hold the deck tilted so you can drive on safely and not worry about it falling back down. It also held the weight of the sleds/ATVs keeping the deck from slamming down, sometimes it took extra help to get it to lay back down if you didn't drive on far enough. Your trailer tongue will thank you for no more slamming, especially if its aluminum.

My old Triton had a gas cylinder on it, worked out really nice and never had a problem with it for the 2 years I owned that trailer... I think it was a Triton factory accessory. I would imagine you could get them from a sled trailer store.

I was going to buy a Caliber Trailer Lift for my 2 place trailer.
It looks like it should do the job.
Anyone use this one at all?

When I had my 2-place open steel trailer, the slush guard on the front would not allow the trailer to stay tilted when loading. If I had a spare body, they could stand on the end, or I would have to shovel snow on it to keep it down. I finally mounted a coil over shock that I had laying around under the front. The math was fun, but I finally got it so that it would hold it up when empty and control the descent when loading. I was too cheap to go the hydraulic version but thought it should have worked fine.
