Tie Rod Question.....

Need some help please. After narrowing my control arms I shortened my drag link on the outside, which looking back I should have shortened it on the inside. Anyways, I now need to add some threads to the bar, and left hand threads at that. Before I order a tap online though I need to know what that threading is. Appears to be 10mm by 1.5 left hand is that correct?

BUMP....

Anybody?

Its a 10 1.25 LH. The problem you may run into is that there won't be enough depth in the rod to add any useful number of threads and you cant drill it more once its threaded. You would have been better off taking a bit off each end but its done now. Make sure you order a bottoming tap. The left hand tap will be the spendy one so another option is to order both the left and right taps and get some 3/4" 6061 alu rod and make new ones. You will need to drill 8.75 mm holes on the rod to run the taps, off the top of my I think that is a R letter drill but you'll need to look that up for sure.

Thanks! These rods may be aftermarket then as they appear to be hollow all they way through.Arms are Barkbusters, did Barkbusters come with hollow rod? And yes after I did it I kicked myself for not taking some off both ends or at least of the right hand thread end.

Do those use the stock tie rod ends? I know Tsled builds all their stuff in SAE but their front end kits may not come with rod ends, I don't know if they do or don't might be worth checking out. The Yami ends are 10 1.25 for sure.
