My hours are getting up there on my 12 FE KTM 450. I was looking at throwing in a fresh piston and came across Thumper Racing's BB option for the KTM 450.

It looks like big gains in the bottom and mid with 6 to 8 hp on the top. Does anyone have any experience with this motor?

I have one. I used it for snowbiking for half a season until it blew up. It does fill in the bottom end power nicely which I love on the dirt where you don't need to rev the bike as much as on the snow. For me it didn't work out, on the positive side Travis was a good guy to deal with and treated me fairly on my second rebuild. Now I just use the bike for dirt only. Some guys have had better luck than me with theirs.

We have had very good success with the Thumper Products, big bores included.
Cheers

What year is your bike that blew up? I thought I read somewhere it was the rod that let go. I see different rod part numbers for the newer than 2012 450's (2013-2015). Trying to figure out if the newer stuff is any better than the older. Anyone know?
