Throwing knives and axes

Looking to pick up a set of throwing knifes and maybe an axe\hatchet or two for around the campsite. Anybody have experience or advice.

Buy extra handles for your tomahawks/throwing axes. Funnest game to play is "Handles."

As for the knives, the cheap ones work alright, but need regular maintanence with a file to keep any semblance of tip while learning. Don't drop coin on good throwing knives until you can reliably stick em.

Learn both overhand and underhand at first, side arm can come later. Try and learn how to throw to get things to stick differently (point, edge, horizontal, etc).

Its a hoot, did it for a lot of years and then gave up on it.

BTW, Hawks work the best for thrown "hatchets." They are cheap and easy to find at any kind of Mountain Man Rondezvous you can find.

Not a whole lot to them... can't remember the site I used to order from, but you don't need to get the most expensive one you can find. Make sure the handles are tight, and pluck off whatever you throw before you throw the next one...

I got a muela throwing knife that i toy around with from time to time, it seems to be made well. before that i bought a cheap set just to learn how to stick them, the cheap ones like sup said bring a file to sharpen and a hammer to straighten.

I used to throw axes but just the normal ones not the ones intented for throwing, Practice, practice, practice:beer;
