throttle cable replacement

so i replace the throttle cable on my 04 summit x 800 (was a bitch). i put the cable back on the oil pump as close as i could tell to the old position it was in....how exact does this have to be??? i am just worried about not getting enough oil in the ratio..

you have to measure the distance and adjust the cable between the two half s of the cable sheath. your dealer should be able to give you the spec, prety easy to setup.

i already got the sled back together. i had to take the gas tank off and the bars that hold the tank in and a bunch of plastic to get to it. i think there was an adjustment splitter in the cable...is there any way to tell if it is within adjustment? (without having to tear everything back apart)......i would rather tear it all apart than have a blown motor.....should have thought about that before i put it back together

the adjustment is done at the splitter. Should be .650 between cable housings minus the amount of play measured at the throttle lever. Go spend 6.00 at shopmanualdownloads.com and get a rev manual on pdf, best $6 you'll ever spend on your sled......
