Throttle cable extention question?

Can any one help. I just raised my sons handle bars about 5 inches today. I had to add a cable extention and brake line extention. The sleds throttle cable now is tight and it idles too fast. The track is turning on my jack stand. It is a 1999 MXZx 600 with round slide carbs. Is the proper way to get slack in the cable to loosen the cables on the top of the slides.

I had the same problem with my powermadd extension. I tried everything to get it to RPM right again but couldn't. So I took the original cable to a motorcycle shop and they extended it 8 inches. It works awesome and only cost 25 bucks. Wish I would have done that the first time.

X2... Most sleds I have been around that have tried the powermad cable extensions have problems with them sticking or not coming all the way back to an idle. Do yourself, and your son a favor and get a custom longer one built. There is nothing worse than have a cable stick at the wrong time. I believe slp used to make cables to order. There are alot of shops that do this as well. You will sleep much better with the right setup on there.
