Throttle Cable Extension

Anyone used the Powermadd throttle cale extension? If so, was it any good? Was it easy to install?

I've used one before. Simple to install and work OK. I think it gave me more throttle pull, ie. pulls harder so I got a new longer cable from Gravity Works and it is excellent. A little harder to install because of the attachment to the oil pump and readjusting but I thought it was worth it.

Get a set of cables from Darrin at www.gravityworxracing.com and you will never regret it. I tried a Powermadd thingy to take the easy way out and threw it away after 2 rides. It made the pull harder and makes about an 8" section of your cable wedding pric* stiff and straight.

I have a power madd on mine. It works fine, but I would not buy another. 8" is too much and the thing is so stiff you have to fight it over to fasten it to your bars, afraid all the time you will kink the cable. Then you end up with this great big knob hanging there. (no personel comments please)

I didn't notice any difference in throttle pull with a PowerMadd extension installed. I lubed the cables first though.

I hope they're not total crap. I just installed one on my .................
SNOWMACHINE, eh.

No, They're not total crap at all. They DO add just a bit more pull pressure and the plastic housing is kind of a P.I.T.A. But for what they are and for how much they cost they work great.
Just make sure you lube the cable box well and I even added a bit of vaseline in it and be sure to seal the box with the heat shrink cover, put some more vaseline at the ends of the box, inside the heat shrink and then tie the ends tight with cable ties to keep the moisture out.
I've heard stories of them getting water in them then freezing and VIOLA, your throttle's stuck wide open:eek:

They're a great addition to any SLED !!!

Huge +1 for that.
